Hi there! I'm Marina.
My design journey started unexpectedly, with a degree in psychology and a part-time job as a swim coach, when parents complained about our website's usability, I took it upon myself to redesign it. Unknowingly I stepped into the world of UX design. I found myself falling in love with the process, fueled by positive feedback. This experience was a lightbulb moment, sparking my passion for UX design.
Fast forward through self-taught lessons and endless curiosity, I landed at Interprice Technologies. I was faced with my biggest challenge yet, designing for a finance platform without a background in finance. Initially, this gap in my knowledge seemed intimidating, as I struggled to understand the logic behind financial processes and the needs of our users. However, this obstacle became an inspiration for growth. I dove into researching finance, and understanding how users perform tasks manually, which enabled me to design solutions. This journey taught me the value of embracing challenges as opportunities to learn and grow.
What sets me apart? My background in psychology, my empathetic approach to design, and my love for diving deep into problems until I emerge with a solution. My philosophy is simple: design should make life easier, not more complicated. This belief has been my north star, guiding me through projects, allowing me to create experiences that resonate with people. Reflecting on my journey, I've realized that unexpected paths often lead us to our true passions. For me, UX design is more than a job—it's a way of making a difference in the world, one design at a time.
Outside of work, I'm a social butterfly who loves baking, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family. I'm always up for new adventures, whether it's snowboarding in the winter or enjoying boat days in summer.
